What are Affirmations?


For those of you wanting to start their spiritual journey and have that incredible 5am morning routine, affirmations are a good place to start.

Some of you may not know what an affirmation is, so let’s clarify that.

An affirmation is usually a sentence, with powerful words linked together (like a positive statement) aimed to tap into your conscious and unconscious mind. These statements are used to motivate, challenge and encourage you to reach your full potential in life.

Whether you believe this or not, the power of the mind, and more specifically, the power of thought, can impact the reality in which you live in. A small example of this is Jeff Bezos. The creation of Amazon started from a single thought, an idea if you wish. And through the power of his thoughts and in turn his actions, Amazon came to life, and better yet, it is now one of the largest online selling platforms to date.

Now, how do affirmations tie into this? Well, we all know how hard it is to sometimes think positively, especially when there are external problems impacting our state of mind. Affirmations can help break those negative thought cycles.

When you repeat your affirmations and believe in them, you will start to see these statements take charge of your thoughts, and slowly change your pattern of thinking. In turn, these positive thoughts will increase your self-confidence and can very well change your life.

So what are some good affirmations?

  • I embrace the rhythm of life and let it unfold.
  • I focus on action to create the life I want. 
  • I know my intuition will always take me in the right direction.
  • I adore my quirks because they make me unique.
  • I can become anything I put my mind to.
  • I can achieve anything I put my mind to.
  • I accept myself for who I am and create peace, power and confidence in my mind and heart. I am going to forgive myself and free myself. I deserve to forgive and be forgiven. I am healing and strengthening every day.

Try writing these down in a journal, every morning for seven days.
